A to Z Book by Book Scripture Memorization–2 Peter 3:9

This Week’s Memory Verse: 2 Peter 3:9 KJV
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

This Week’s Message:
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise—the Lord has promised there will be a time that Christ will return and there will be a day of judgement–He has an appointed time that this will happen and it will happen at that time, not sooner–not later.
The Lord is not slow, He is not delaying the time, He is not tarrying—-what He is doing is being longsuffering or very patient, because He does not
want anyone to perish (die in sin) but He wants all people to repent and come to be saved.
He set the time long ago to give everyone a chance for salvation but when that time arrives He will not extend it.
That is why in 2 Corinthians 6:2 it says “…behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation”
No one should wait to repent of their sins and accept Christ as their Savior, because no one knows how much time they have.

Memorize this verse and share it with those you know who are lost, let them know that they need to repent and believe and receive Christ now before it is too late.

If you would like you can Print the memory verse out in a card format to post to your bathroom mirror, refrigerator, car visor, or other place that would keep it in your daily vision. It will help to remind you to memorize it as you go through your day and also could be a great tool in sharing with others who might benefit from it also.

A to Z–Book by Book Scripture Memorization–Jonah 2:9

This Week’s Memory Verse: Jonah 2:9 NKJV
But I will sacrifice to You With the voice of thanksgiving;
I will pay what I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.”

This Week’s Message:
Jonah was in repentance for his disobedience to the LORD. He had deliberately disobeyed what the LORD had told him to do and then paid the consequence for his actions.
When he was in the belly of the fish that the LORD had sent to save him from drowning he repented of his disobedience and offered a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the LORD for saving him and he also vowed to the LORD that he would obey in the future, for he acknowledged that his salvation was of the LORD.

We can all learn from the story of Jonah that obedience to the LORD is always necessary. And, by memorizing this week’s verse we can remind ourselves that if the LORD tells us to do something, we had best obey and do it, for otherwise we may not only jeopardize our life but we may also endanger others.
Therefore, this week let’s offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the LORD
for His Salvation and let’s  be sure to be obedient to whatever He has told us to do.

Also, we must always be careful in making vows to the LORD, for He does not take what we vow lightly.
He loves us with an everlasting love and He will discipline us if need be to keep us from going astray. So, this verse gives us plenty of food for thought this week.

As we memorize this verse, it would do us all well to read or re-read the book of Jonah, for there are some valuable lessons we can all learn from this short book.
It will be good to share this Jonah story with others who have never read it or heard about it for as we see in the story, the LORD even used Jonah’s disobedience and consequences to cause unbelievers to come to know Him and to call upon Him.

If you would like you can Print the verse out in a card format to post to your bathroom mirror, refrigerator, car visor, or other place that would keep it in your daily vision.
It will help to remind you to memorize it as you go through your day and also could be a great tool in sharing with others who might

Blessings to you this week as you memorize the word of the LORD, obey what He is telling you through it, and share it with others.

A to Z–Book by Book Scripture Memorization–Joel 2:13

This Week’s Verse: Joel 2:13 NKJV
So rend your heart, and not your garments;
Return to the LORD your God,
For He is gracious and merciful,
Slow to anger, and of great kindness;
And He relents from doing harm.

This Week’s Message:
This week’s verse is about repentance. It is about examining ourselves and if we find sin, confessing it, repenting of it and making a U-Turn back to following God in all our ways. It is a good reminder and something we should do daily.
It is also a good reminder of who our LORD is. He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness. Aren’t we glad to be reminded of that!

We should memorize this verse as a reminder to examine ourselves daily and also to give thanks for the wonderful God we have!

If you would like you can Print the verse out in a card format to post to your bathroom mirror, refrigerator, car visor, or other place that would keep it in your daily vision.
It will help to remind you to memorize it as you go through your day and also could be a great tool in sharing with others who might see it.

Scripture Memorization Spiritual Blessing: Chosen

Ephesians 1:4This Week’s Scripture:
just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, Ephesians 1:4 KJV

The NLT says: Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.

This Week’s Message:
Believers, God was “not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” 2Peter 3:9
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3:16-17

God’s desire was for all those in the world to be His children, even before He created the world, even before He created us. God’s desire was to have a pure people with whom He could have a loving relationship, here on earth and for all eternity. That was why He made a way for that to happen. Jesus Christ is the Way. In Christ, we become the chosen of God.

As you memorize this verse, give thanks that before you were even born God made a way for you to have a loving relationship with Him.
Praise God today that you chose to believe and receive Christ, and in Christ, are now holy and without blame before God in love.
