This Week’s Memory Verse: A Precious Promise: about FORGIVENESS If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 (NKJV)
This Week’s Message:
Believers, we have this precious promise of forgiveness of our sins, past–present–future! God is faithful and just–He promises to forgive us of all our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, if we are in Christ, that is, if we have believed and received Jesus, God’s Son, as our Savior.
What a wonderful promise!
Memorize this verse as a reminder to yourself and also to share with others.
Blessings to you all as you fill your mind and heart with Him and His word!
This Week’s Memory Verse: Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
Psalm 16:1 KJV
This Week’s Message: This verse is a Michtam of David. Only two other Psalms are described as such. I believe it is a special poem that David wrote to encourage himself during a time of great need. The definition of Michtam is not totally known but it is believed by some to mean “golden” or a very bold, special request at a time of great need or during a time of trouble.
“Preserve me” would mean protect me, keep me from harm, watch over me, guard me, and more. David was speaking to “EL” Jehovah, the One True God. David was telling God that he trusted in Him, that he believed God was near and that God would indeed help him.
I think that this would be a special short verse for all of us believers to memorize as we could recall it to memory in our times of need.
Blessings to you as you memorize His word and walk in it with Him daily.
This Week’s Memory Verse: As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
Psalm 103:12 NKJV
This Week’s Message: Believers, once we believed and received Jesus as our Savior, our sins were removed from us forever, never to return, never to be remembered–gone as if they never were.Memorize this verse to remind yourself daily, that in Christ you have been forgiven.
Barnes’ Notes on Psalms 103:12 As far as the east is from the west – As far as possible; as far as we can imagine. These are the points in our apprehension most distant from each other, and as we can conceive nothing beyond them, so the meaning is, that we cannot imagine our sins could be more effectually removed than they are. The literal meaning of the Hebrew is, “like the distance of the east from the west” or, “like its being far.” So far hath he removed our transgressions from us – That is, he has put them entirely away. They are so removed that they cannot affect us any more. We are safe from all condemnation for our sins, as if they had not been committed at all. Compare the notes at Isaiah 43:25; notes at Isaiah 44:22.
