Scripture Memorization–Enduring To The End–Week 6

This Week’s Memory Verse:
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1 KJV

This verse has always been my go to verse. I guess it could be called my Life Verse.

Long ago I memorized this verse and many times since it has come into my mind when I have been in trouble or need. Many times I have spoken it out loud to myself or to God in troubling times, and many times it has proved true, as God was always my refuge and my strength. He indeed was a very present help in trouble. He has never failed me and I trust He never will.

So, I believe this verse is a very important verse for us believers to memorize and call to mind in times of trouble and need. It is a verse which will help us endure troubling end times because we will be reminded that our God is always with us to help us, protect us and give us strength for any situation we might have to face. He indeed is a Helper, in fact that is one of  His names. (Psalm 54:4, Hebrews 13:6)

A Precious Promise: TRUST

A Precious Promise : TRUST
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
Proverbs 3:5,6 (NKJV)

This Week’s Message:
This week’s Promise will be fulfilled—

  • IF: we place our full confidence in the Lord, by totally relying on His strength and ability to lead and guide us.
  • IF: we do not lean on our own understanding–ie: try to figure things out for ourselves, plan our way, etc.
  • IF: we acknowledge Him–ie: ask for His help, pray for His guidance, submit to His leading.

This verse is conditional. It promises that the Lord will direct us—IF we do our part. Memorize it and then do your best to do your part daily. If you do, He will do His part!

A Precious Promise on NEEDS

A Precious Promise: about our NEEDS:
And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19 NKJV

This Week’s Message:
Needs are something that are a necessity to life. They are things that are required for us to live.
Our basic needs, then, would be air, food, water, clothing, shelter. We would need some form provision that would give us those things.
Money can be a need, for it does provide us on earth with most of the things we need to live, however, God is the ultimate provider of all our needs,
He has riches that are above money, and He promises us believers, those who are in Christ Jesus, that He will meet all of our needs gloriously!
He can provide the things we need from His riches in heaven–there is no limit with God. So, we believers, should trust Him for our needs.

Memorize this promise and worry no more about your basic needs, for God will liberally supply you daily, and He will do it in ways you cannot even imagine!
What a wonderful God we have! What a wonderful Promise He has given to us!
Let’s claim it and walk in it daily!

A Precious Promise: Everlasting Life

This Week’s Memory Verse:
A Precious Promise: EVERLASTING LIFE
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” –Jesus (John 6:47 KJV)

This Week’s Message:
This week’s scripture is the wonderful promise of everlasting life, spoken by Jesus, to those who believe on Him!

To believe “on” someone means to put all your faith, hope and trust on them for whatever they are promising, in this case it would be believing on Jesus to receive everlasting life.

I chose this week, to memorize the King James version of this scripture, because the other translations, to me, do not have the same exact meaning as the KJV.

The New King James version says believes “in me”, and it does not quite have the same meaning as believing “on me” in my opinion.
You can believe in someone, yet might not really believe on them.
Just a bit different thought for me on this subject, so that is why I am choosing to memorize the KJV version for this verse.

The other bible translations say “he who believes” and to me that is too vague. I think Jeus words were specific: “he that believes on Me has everlasting life.”

So, this week let’s memorize the KJV version and truly believe on Jesus for everlasting life, but also believe in Him as well.

Blessings to you all as you memorize God’s word!

(Here is the Verse in the KJV for those of you who prefer to memorize KJV)

A to Z Book by Book Scripture Memorization–1 Thessalonians 5:18

This Week’s Memory Verse:
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 KJV

This Week’s Message:
This weeks verse tells us believers to “give thanks in everything for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
That means whatever circumstances we are in we should be thankful because in the end we know God will work all things together for our good. (See Romans 8:28)
So in various trials we should stay in an attitude of thankfulness that we have God to lean on, we should trust that He is aware of our circumstances, we should believe that He is working things out on our behalf.
Staying in this attitude will keep us from discouragement, grumbling, anger and worry, which are all forms of unbelief and therefore sinful on our part.

This week then as we memorize our verse, let’s give thanks daily and also put into practice the verses before and after it.
Each day this week let’s:

  • Rejoice evermore. 1Th 5:16–for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.1 Thessalonians 5:18
  • Pray without ceasing.1Th 5:17–for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.1 Thessalonians 5:18
  • Quench not the Spirit.1Th 5:19–for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.1 Thessalonians 5:18
  • Despise not prophesyings. 1Th 5:20–for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.1 Thessalonians 5:18
  • Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.1Th 5:21–for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.1 Thessalonians 5:18
  • Abstain from all appearance of evil.1Th 5:22–for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.1 Thessalonians 5:18

A to Z Book by Book Scripture Memorization–1 Samuel 15:29

This Week’s Memory Verse: 1 Samuel 15:29 KJV
And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent:
for he is not a man, that he should repent.

This Week’s Message:
In this week’s verse we are reminded that God does not lie, nor repent. God’s word is true. What He says or does will stand forever, because His judgements and actions are always just.
We can be sure that whatever He has spoken will come about. We can stand firm on His word.
This week’s verse reminds us of Numbers 23:19 which says the same:
“God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”

Memorize this weeks verse as an encouragement to yourself, that in this world that is so unstable and insecure, there is one thing that we can be absolutely sure of,
and stand firm on–it is God’s word.
Then, use this verse as you witness to others, share with them the blessing of knowing there is Someone and something they can absolutely believe and trust in,
Someone who will never lie, Someone whose word is always true and good, Someone who is always just, Someone who is so upright that there is no need for repentance.
That Someone is God Almighty (Gen.17:1), the Strength of Israel (1Sam.15:29), Just One (Acts 22:14), Righteous One (1John 2:1), Spirit of Truth (John 14:17), All in All (Col.3:11).
Praise Him today!

A to Z Book by Book Scripture Memorization–Ruth 2:12

This Week’s Memory Verse: Ruth 2:12 KJV
The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.

This Week’s Message:
This week’s verse is what Boaz, an Israelite, spoke to Ruth, who was a foreigner in his land.  It is a Blessing he bestowed upon Ruth because of her actions.
Ruth was a Moabite, not an Israelite.  She was of a people whose lifestyle was very different than the Israelites.
After Ruth lost her husband, who was one of Naomi’s sons, she chose to leave her country, her family, her friends and her people and go with Naomi, her Israelite mother-in-law, to help her and protect her on a journey to a new land, among people whom she did not know, people who worshiped and believed in a God she did not know.
Ruth showed genuine compassion and love for her mother-in-law and chose to trust in God because she saw and admired the faith of Naomi and the Israelite people. Boaz saw this quality in her and chose to bless her because of it.

Let’s memorize this verse this week as a reminder to challenge ourselves to live our life as Ruth did. Selfless, Humble, Compassionate, Loving and Trusting.
As we live out our faith daily, others will see and admire these qualities in us, God will be glorified, and we will be blessed.

If you would like you can Print the memory verse out in a card format to post to your bathroom mirror, refrigerator, car visor, or other place that would keep it in your daily vision. It will help to remind you to memorize it as you go through your day and also could be a great tool in sharing with others who might benefit from it also.

Have a wonderful week walking in faith, love. and trust daily.

A to Z Book by Book Scripture Memorization–Proverbs 3:5

This Week’s Memory Verse: Proverbs 3:5 KJV
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

This Week’s Message:
This Week’s Memory Verse is a good one to memorize because in our daily lives we will often need to be reminded to do this.

Many times things happen, or don’t happen, that we can’t understand, therefore we need to be reminded that God’s ways are not our ways and we need to just place all our confidence in Him that things will work out for the best somehow in someway.
We need to trust in the LORD everyday with all our mind, heart, and soul, leaning upon His understanding of things and not on ours.
This makes our lives so much easier if we do this. For by trusting in Him and not leaning onto our own understanding, we eliminate the temptation to worry and fret, things He has told us not to do.
If we really believe that He is in control of everything, then there is no need for us to try to figure things out. We should just trust in Him as He tells us to do.

Memorize this verse and do what it says daily. You will find how much more peaceful your life will become.

If you would like you can Print the memory verse out in a card format to post to your bathroom mirror, refrigerator, car visor, or other place that would keep it in your daily vision. A to Z Book by Book Scripture Memorization: Numbers 23:19

This Week’s Memory Verse: Numbers 23:19 KJV
God is not a man, that he should lie;….

This Week’s Message:
This Week’s verse is short, but powerful. God is telling us that He does not lie. And, we as believers all believe that in our hearts, and we know that in our minds, but….
there are times when we let doubt creep in, or fear, or insecurity. We wonder about this or that regarding a situation instead of just believing and trusting.
So this verse is one we should memorize and keep in our minds and hearts for those times of fear and doubt. Then, we can remind ourselves “God is not a man, that he should lie.”

Memorize this verse–Speak it out loud to yourself whenever you doubt or fear or are tempted. Know that God’s word is always true and that He will always keep His promises.
For, as the whole verse says: “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”

If you would like you can Print the memory verse out in a card format to post to your bathroom mirror, refrigerator, car visor, or other place that would keep it in your daily vision. It will help to remind you to memorize it as you go through your day and also could be a great tool in sharing with others who might benefit from it also.

A to Z Book by Book Scripture Memorization: Nahum 1:7

This Week’s Memory Verse: Nahum 1:7 KJV
The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

This Week’s Message:
This week’s verse tells us three things:

  • The LORD is good
  • The LORD is a stronghold in the day of trouble
  • The LORD knows those that trust in HIm

What do these things mean to us in our daily lives? If we are believers, they mean that we have a Heavenly Father that is good, kind, loving and upright, someone we can count on to always be there for us, especially in time of trouble, for then we can run to Him for safety and protection from harm or fear.
It tells me that He knows who we are, for we are not strangers or someone He just knows of, no, He knows us personally. We are His children. We belong to Him.
He cares for us, watches over us, and protects us day and night.

What a wonderful verse! Memorize it and share it with all the believers you know and give thanks and praise to our wonderful LORD!

A to Z–Book by Book Scripture Memorization–Joshua 1:9

This Week’s Verse: Joshua 1:9 NKJV
Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.

This Week’s Message:
Three times the LORD told Joshua to be strong and of good courage. Moses had just died and Joshua was to take over leading the people of Israel.
The LORD knew Joshua would be feeling unsure, perhaps a bit frightened at this great task. The LORD wanted to ensure Joshua that he could do this because the LORD Himself was going to be with him night and day where ever he was, the LORD would be there helping him, telling him what to do.
And so, as Joshua believed, and trusted, he led the people as the LORD told him and he saw the power of the LORD come to pass.

The LORD God has told us believers the same thing. He has told us He would be with us always. He has told us His Holy Spirit is within us. He has told us not to fear,
but to trust Him in all things. As we believe Him and do as He says we see His hand at work in our lives just as Joshua did.

A to Z Book by Book Scripture Memorization–Ezekiel 12:25

This Week’s Memory Verse: Ezekiel 12:25 NKJV
“For I am the LORD. I speak, and the word which I speak will come to pass;….”

This Week’s Message:
This week’s memory verse comes from the book of Ezekiel, the book of which tells of God’s anger and judgment upon Israel, Jerusalem and the Nations.
Ezekiel, is called to be God’s prophet, to speak God’s words to a rebellious people. Many times throughout this book we read ” Thus says the Lord God”.

God’s word is powerful, When God speaks His words create. When God speaks His word always comes to pass. We can trust in God’s word, it is always true.
This week’s verse was spoken to Ezekiel to give to the people of Israel, but it is a verse that we, God’s people, can claim for ourselves this day, for any word God speaks
is true and relevant.

Therefore, memorize this verse, ponder it and consider if God has spoken a word to you recently or in the past. If what He spoke has not yet come to pass in your life,
trust that it will, for this verse tells us that what God speaks “will come to pass”. Also, know that what God has spoken throughout His word the Bible will all come to pass
in His perfect timing.

If you would like you can Print the verse out in a card format to post to your refrigerator, bathroom mirror, car visor, or other place that would keep it in your daily vision.
It will help to remind you to memorize it as you go through your day and also could be a great tool in sharing with others who might see it.

Memorize this week trusting in God’s word and be comforted.

Fear Not Scripture: Joshua 10:25

Joshua 10:25This Week’s Scripture:
And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage:
Joshua 10:25 KJV

This Week’s Message:
Here we see Joshua telling the people of Israel, once again, to “Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage”

Joshua and his people of war and mighty men of valour, had previously fought and won two great battles, one of which was Jericho. because the LORD God had given victory.
Now, Joshua and his troops had defeated five more cities and their Kings, because the LORD had told Joshua He was giving them into his hand to conquer.
The LORD even listened to Joshua and made the sun and moon stand still for about a whole day. ( Read about it in Joshua 10:12 thru 10:14 )

So, Joshua again is telling the people of Israel to “Fear not” for the LORD would continue giving them victory over their enemies, as He had done, if they would remain loyal to Him and honor and obey Him.

And so shall the LORD do for us. In Christ we have the victory over sin and death and God will continue to protect, provide and give us victory over any enemy that might try to come against us, if we trust Him and obey Him daily.

Memorize this verse and “Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage” for the LORD is with you.

Fear Not Scripture: Deuteronomy 20:3

Deuteronomy 20:3This Week’s Scripture:
…let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them; Deuteronomy 20:3 KJV

This Week’s Message:
As the Israelites are preparing to cross the Jordan into the new land that God, Jehovah, the One True God, has promised to give them, Moses is telling them, once again, not to fear their enemies for God is with them.
He is telling them not to let fear overtake them, not to be afraid, not to faint, or tremble or be terrified. He is reminding them that God is going before them to prepare the way and to fight for them.

Believers, we can learn from this. In Christ, we are God’s people and we should be applying this verse to our current situations in life. Whatever we are facing, wherever we are going, we should remember that God is with us. He is going before us to prepare the way. We should not let fear of the unknown overtake us. We should not let our hearts faint. We should not tremble, nor be terrified of our enemies, or our challenges. We should fear not and walk forward in faith, trusting in the Lord God to protect us and guide us always.

Blessings to you daily as you “Fear Not” !

Fear Not Scripture: Deuteronomy 1:21

Deuteronomy 1:21This Week’s Scripture:
Behold, the LORD thy God hath set the land before thee: go up and possess it, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath said unto thee; fear not, neither be discouraged. Deuteronomy 1:21 KJV

This Week’s Message:
Moses was speaking to the Israelites, refreshing their memories of when he had told them what the LORD God had said for them to do.
He was reminding them that the LORD God had told them to go up and possess the land because He, the LORD God, had set it up for them to be able to take it.
Moses was saying “Remember, I told you that you should fear not and neither be discouraged, yet you did not listen and you did not obey. You rebelled and did not go because you were afraid!”

What is the LORD God telling you to do today? What is He setting before you? Is He telling you to go forth and fear not? Is He saying do not be discouraged ?
If so, do not be like the Israelites. Listen to Him, trust Him and obey Him.
Go forth believing in Him and do not fear.

Fear Not Scripture–Genesis 46:3

Genesis 46:3This Week’s Memory Verse:
And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation: Genesis 46:3 KJV

This Week’s Message:
I am El (Mighty God) the God (Elohiym–the One True God, Jehovah) fear not.

In this verse God is telling Jacob three things:

  1. that he should not fear because He, God, is the same God that Jacob’s father, Isaac knew, loved, trusted and followed. God was in a sense telling Jacob to recall how He, God, had always been there for Jacob and his father Isaac in the past and that he would always be there now for Jacob.
  2. God was telling Jacob where to go in the present time–He was giving Jacob direction for his life.
  3. God was telling Jacob what He was going to do for him in the future. God was promising Jacob the same thing He had promised his father, Isaac.

God was showing Jacob He was there for him in the present just as He had been in the past and would be in the future. Jacob should not fear, but just trust God.

I feel this verse has a lot to teach us today. I feel God could also be speaking this to us believers as well. He is saying “Trust Me” I am Mighty God, the One True God, Jehovah, have no fear, I will direct your paths, I will show you where to go. I have plans for you for the future and they are good plans.

Let’s memorize this verse and repeat it to ourselves daily as a reminder that God is with us, just as He was with Jacob.

Blessings to you daily,

This verse means we are to always have confidence in the One True God. He should daily be your total focus, and doing the good things He has prepared for you to do should be your only daily goal. You can feel secure in Him for wherever you are on earth, if you are trusting in Him and doing His good then He will be faithful to always take care of you. Believe that He is at work in your life and no matter what is happening in your current situation, have confidence that He will somehow work it all out for your good, if you are placing all your trust in Him.

Memorize this encouraging verse, recite it to yourself daily and walk in it’s truth!

Blessings to you daily!

Nuggets of Truth–Scripture Memory Verse–P

Gold Letter PThis Week’s Memory Verse:
Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
Psalm 16:1 KJV

This Week’s Message:
This verse is a Michtam of David. Only two other Psalms are described as such. I believe it is a special poem that David wrote to encourage himself during a time of great need.
The definition of Michtam is not totally known but it is believed by some to mean “golden” or a very bold, special request at a time of great need or during a time of trouble.

“Preserve me” would mean protect me, keep me from harm, watch over me, guard me, and more.
David was speaking to “EL” Jehovah, the One True God. David was telling God that he trusted in Him, that he believed God was near and that God would indeed help him.

I think that this would be a special short verse for all of us believers to memorize as we could recall it to memory in our times of need.

Blessings to you as you memorize His word and walk in it with Him daily.

Nuggets of Truth–Scripture Memory Verse–D

Gold Letter DThis Week’s Memory Verse:
“ Do not be afraid, only believe” –Jesus
Mark 5:36 NKJV

This Week’s Message:
This week’s memory verse is the words of Jesus to the ruler of the synagogue, Jairus, whose daughter was on the brink of death.
(Read the whole story in Mark chapter 5)

Jairus, had come to Jesus to beg healing for his daughter but while Jesus was on the way to go to her, he was delayed by crowds and by a woman who sought healing also.
Therefore, during all of this, some people came up to Jairus telling him that his daughter had already died and that he should not trouble Jesus any further.
It was then Jesus spoke these words to him–in essence, to do not fear, do not listen to others, only believe in Me. I am on my way to help you, to cure your daughter, listen to Me, follow Me, for no delays can stop Me, nothing on earth can alter my plan, which is the plan of the Father, trust in Me, have confidence I what I say.  Jairus was a ruler in the synagogue, but Jesus was a ruler of all!
Jesus had power over all things and we see, in the end, that Jairus did trust in Jesus and that the daughter was healed, even in spite of those who stood around mocking Him.

There is a good lesson here for all of us—“Do not be afraid, only believe”
Our faith sometimes must be put into action.
So, let’s memorize this verse and remember it in our time of fear, doubt or grief, and especially when our prayers are not immediately answered.
For from this story, we see, sometimes, we have to be patient and wait,  and sometimes our faith and trust will be tested, but in the end, Jesus’ words are always true.
