HOPE is Living.
As you light your first candle of Advent take time to ponder this verse:
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
1 Peter 1:3.
There are all kinds of commentaries, articles and sermons explaining what this verse might mean. Most say that Peter was telling the believers in Christ that they could rejoice in their salvation in Christ for they were re-born into a new life that would never end.  In Christ, life is eternal, it does not end with physical death, therefore, we who are in Christ, walk daily in living hope. Hope that is alive, active, expectant, no matter what our earthly circumstances might be for we know our life here is just temporary. “For this world is not our home; we are looking forward to our everlasting home in heaven.” Hebrews 13:14.
What does “a living hope” mean to you?
As the Advent candle burns bright and chases the darkness away, so let Hope fill your heart today with the knowledge that, in Christ, you have been born into a Living Hope for all eternity.
