Hope is God.
As you light your first candle of Advent take time to ponder this verse:
…who through Him believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God. 1 Peter 1:21.
God is Hope. He gave us the faith we needed to believe. He planned for our salvation before we were even born. Hope is in Him, who sent His only Son to die for our sins, and then raise Him from the dead so we could have eternal life with Him. Our hope should be in nothing else but God, who loves us.
 …you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News. Colossians 1:23.
As the Advent candle burns bright and chases the darkness away, determine to set your hope on God who is Hope Himself.
