GREAT JOY.
As you light your first, second, and third candles of Advent, take time to ponder this verse:
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. Luke 2:10.
Can you imagine what it must have been like to see the angels all around, and then hear one speak “Fear not”? It must have been so amazing!
And why was the angel saying, “Fear not”? Because he was bringing good tidings of great joy for all people, and those good tidings were that God had come to earth in the form of a babe named Jesus, who would become the Savior of the world. Wow! Such good tidings of great joy that was then, and still is, now.
As the Advent candles of JOY, PEACE, and HOPE, burn bright and chase the darkness away, celebrate with great joy that Jesus came to earth long ago to save us, and that He will be returning again soon to take us home to be with Him forever.
