SPIRITUAL JOY.
As you light your first, second, and third candles of Advent, take time to ponder this verse:
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control…Â Galatians 5:22 and 23.
Spiritual Joy is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. If you are a believer in Christ, you have the Holy Spirit dwelling in you, and all of the fruits of the Spirit are within you as well.
Spiritual joy is possible even during times of adversity, if we keep our focus on God, and we believe that His presence is with us always.  If we remember that we are filled with Jesus’ Joy, and that His Joy will remain in us, we can rejoice always, no matter what the circumstances around us may be. For Psalm 16:11 says: You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.Â
As the Advent candles of JOY, PEACE, and HOPE, burn bright and chase the darkness away, focus on the Joy you have within you because of Jesus and the Holy Spirit, and bear the fruit of Joy in your life every day.
