MOUTH MEDICINE:<\/u><\/strong>
\n“But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one. <\/em>–Jesus Matthew 5:37<\/p>\n

TONGUE TALK:
\n<\/u><\/strong>Speak simply. Why did Jesus say this?
\nBecause He didn’t want us to rashly make oaths or swear by anything.
\nHaving to swear or make oaths betrays the weakness of our word and can cause us to fall into judgments.
\nWe are not to swear by heaven or earth or by God’s name, therefore, we should speak simply with just a “Yes” or “No”. If we need to emphasize our answer we can say: “Yes, Yes!” or “No, No!”.
\nThat way we will keep ourselves from temptation by the evil one of perhaps using God’s name in vain or by making an oath we would rather not make.<\/p>\n

HEART HELP:
\n<\/u><\/strong>Jesus said:
\n\u201cBut I say to you,do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God’s throne; nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
\n<\/em>Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black. But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes, \u2018and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one. Matthew 5:34-37\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath. But let your “Yes” be “Yes,” and your “No,” “No,” lest you fall into judgment\u201d. <\/em>James 5:12<\/p>\n

MY PRAYER FOR TODAY:
\n<\/u><\/strong>Dear God, I pray today that I may practice using Simple Speech.
\nMay my “Yes” be simply “Yes” and my “No” be simply “No”.
\nI want my speech to always honor You Father God, so I pray I will keep Your word in my heart and then, my speech will reflect You, in what it brings forth.<\/p>\n
