{"id":2409,"date":"2026-01-26T00:08:47","date_gmt":"2026-01-26T08:08:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/smilegodlovesyou.org\/devotionals\/?p=2409"},"modified":"2026-01-25T21:30:12","modified_gmt":"2026-01-26T05:30:12","slug":"january-26-walk-worthy-ephesians-41","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/smilegodlovesyou.org\/devotionals\/january-26-walk-worthy-ephesians-41\/","title":{"rendered":"January 26\u2014Walk Worthy\u2014Ephesians 4:1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Walk Worthy.<br \/>\n<em>\u2026\u00a0walk worthy of the calling with which you were called,<\/em> Ephesians 4:1.<\/p>\n<p>What does it mean to \u201cwalk worthy\u201d of your calling?<br \/>\nIf we continue reading Ephesians 4 Paul explains it in verses 3 and 4.<br \/>\nIn the NLT bible it says:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Always be humble and gentle.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other\u2019s faults because of your love.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In other words, live your life reflecting Christ and the fruits of the Holy Spirit.\u00a0 Live your life in unity with fellow believers.\u00a0 Do not become entangled in worldly affairs that might lead you away from your calling to live a godly life.\u00a0 Don\u2019t let your earthly circumstances weaken your faith.\u00a0 Stand firm in what you believe.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God\u2014truly righteous and holy.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>So, stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body. <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>And \u201cdon\u2019t sin by letting anger control you.\u201d Don\u2019t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>If you are a thief, quit stealing. Instead, use your hands for good hard work, and then give generously to others in need.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Don\u2019t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>And do not bring sorrow to God\u2019s Holy Spirit by the way you live.
