{"id":557,"date":"2023-08-12T00:08:24","date_gmt":"2023-08-12T07:08:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/smilegodlovesyou.org\/devotionals\/?p=557"},"modified":"2023-09-01T18:12:58","modified_gmt":"2023-09-02T01:12:58","slug":"august-12-forgive-one-another","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/smilegodlovesyou.org\/devotionals\/august-12-forgive-one-another\/","title":{"rendered":"AUGUST 12&#8211;FORGIVE ONE ANOTHER"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><u>A &#8220;One Anothering&#8221; Scripture and Thought<\/u><br \/>\n<em>&#8230;and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.<\/em> Colossians 3:13<\/p>\n<p>Forgive means:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>to cease to feel resentment against<\/li>\n<li>to pardon an offense or an offender<\/li>\n<li>to cancel an indebtedness or liability of<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We believers should always forgive one another.<\/p>\n<p>We should not hold onto offenses against one another.<\/p>\n<p>We should pardon one another and not hold a grudge.<\/p>\n<p>We should not resent one another, but should settle our differences quickly, so we can walk together in love.<br \/>\nAs Jesus said in John 13:34: <em>\u201c<\/em><em>A <\/em><em>new<\/em><em> commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n<p><u>ONE-ANOTHERING IN ACTION:<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Our human nature will cause us to feel resentments or take offenses, but God says we are not to walk in the flesh, but in the way of the Spirit, forgiving one another and loving one another.<\/p>\n<p><em>Jesus said:\u00a0 \u201cAnd whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.<\/em>\u201d\u00a0 Mark 11:25-26<\/p>\n<p>Daily, we must do our best to forgive our brothers and sisters, as Christ has forgiven us.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8230;forgive the person who offends you.
