Peace to you all who are in Christ Jesus. Amen.\u00a0 <\/em>1 Peter 5:14<\/p>\n<p>Greet means:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>to welcome<\/li>\n<li>to meet or receive<\/li>\n<li>to address with a bow or kiss, a word or phrase<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We believers should always greet one another warmly.<br \/>\nIn Peter&#8217;s day and culture, it was &#8220;with a kiss of love&#8221; or &#8220;holy kiss&#8221;.<br \/>\nToday, in our culture, it could be whatever you might feel is an appropriate greeting of Christian love.<br \/>\nThe Greek meaning is agape love: affection, good will, love, benevolence, brotherly love. It is not a sexual kiss but a genuine greeting of agape love towards a brother or sister in Christ.<\/p>\n<p>It could be a kiss on the cheek, a warm handshake, a hug, a big smile or a cheerful &#8220;Hi&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps just a touch on the shoulder or arm would let someone know they are noticed and greeted; this builds unity in the church.<\/p>\n<p><u>ONE-ANOTHERING IN ACTION:<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Today make it a point to greet a brother or sister in Christian love.<\/p>\n<p>Choose whatever greeting you are comfortable with and then be sure to use it often, so that everyone feels they are important, noticed, and welcome in the church body.<\/p>\n<p><em>Greet one another with a holy kiss. The churches of Christ greet you<\/em>.
