{"id":599,"date":"2026-08-25T00:08:22","date_gmt":"2026-08-25T07:08:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/smilegodlovesyou.org\/devotionals\/?p=599"},"modified":"2026-08-24T20:21:49","modified_gmt":"2026-08-25T03:21:49","slug":"august-25-submit-to-one-another","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/smilegodlovesyou.org\/devotionals\/august-25-submit-to-one-another\/","title":{"rendered":"AUGUST 25&#8211;SUBMIT TO ONE ANOTHER"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><u>A &#8220;One Anothering&#8221; Scripture and Thought<\/u><br \/>\n<em>submitting to one another in the fear of God.<\/em> Ephesians 5:21<\/p>\n<p>Submit means:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>to yield oneself to the power or authority of another<\/li>\n<li>to allow oneself to be subjected to some kind of treatment<\/li>\n<li>to defer to another&#8217;s judgment, opinion, decision, etc<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To submit to one another is often hard to do, but Paul says we are to do it out of reverence to God.<\/p>\n<p><u>ONE-ANOTHERING IN ACTION:<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Perhaps today you will need to yield yourself to the authority of one of your brothers or sisters in Christ, do it willingly out of reverence to God.<\/p>\n<p>You might need to defer to the judgement, opinion or decision of a teacher in the church, do so in obedience to God.<\/p>\n<p>Occasionally, it might be necessary to allow oneself to be subjected to some kind of counseling for treatment of an ongoing problem, do so with a &#8220;one anothering&#8221; attitude for your good and the good of other believers.<\/p>\n<p>Pray and ask God to give you the ability, strength and willingness to submit in whatever way He has called you to do.<\/p>\n<p><em>Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders.
