{"id":605,"date":"2023-08-26T00:08:28","date_gmt":"2023-08-26T07:08:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/smilegodlovesyou.org\/devotionals\/?p=605"},"modified":"2023-09-01T18:39:47","modified_gmt":"2023-09-02T01:39:47","slug":"august-26-do-not-bear-grudges-against-one-another","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/smilegodlovesyou.org\/devotionals\/august-26-do-not-bear-grudges-against-one-another\/","title":{"rendered":"AUGUST 26&#8211;DO NOT BEAR GRUDGES AGAINST ONE ANOTHER"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><u>A &#8220;One Anothering&#8221; Scripture and Thought<\/u><br \/>\n<em>Grudge not one against another, brethren,&#8230;<\/em> James 5:9<\/p>\n<p>Bear Grudges means:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>to hold onto a feeling of ill will or resentment.<\/li>\n<li>to continue resenting the good fortune of another; to have a begrudging attitude.<\/li>\n<li>to be reluctant or unwilling to submit to forgiveness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A grudge is a feeling of resentment harbored because of some real or fancied wrong.<\/p>\n<p>Scripture says we are not to harbor grudges against anyone, but especially not against our brothers and sisters in Christ.<\/p>\n<p><u>ONE-ANOTHERING IN ACTION:<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Today examine yourself to see if you might be bearing a grudge against someone. If you are, pray and ask God to remove this grudging attitude from you and replace it with His love.<\/p>\n<p>Tell Him you want to be cleansed from the begrudging attitude so you can walk in His love and forgiveness, and so be obedient to His word.<\/p>\n<p><em>Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD<\/em>.
