{"id":623,"date":"2023-08-30T00:08:21","date_gmt":"2023-08-30T07:08:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/smilegodlovesyou.org\/devotionals\/?p=623"},"modified":"2023-09-02T10:03:51","modified_gmt":"2023-09-02T17:03:51","slug":"august-30-do-not-lie-to-one-another","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/smilegodlovesyou.org\/devotionals\/august-30-do-not-lie-to-one-another\/","title":{"rendered":"AUGUST 30&#8211;DO NOT LIE TO ONE ANOTHER"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><u>A &#8220;One Anothering&#8221; Scripture and Thought<br \/>\n<\/u><em>Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,<\/em> Colossians 3:9-10<\/p>\n<p>Lie means:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>an inaccurate or false statement<\/li>\n<li>an intentional untruth meant to deceive.<\/li>\n<li>to convey a false impression<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I think we all know what a lie is, and I think we all know we are not supposed to lie, at all, to anyone, but especially to our brothers and sisters in Christ.\u00a0 \u00a0God\u2019s word tells us many times to not be a false witness.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, we have all lied at one time or another and unfortunately, we have all been lied to at some time in our lives. Even though we know it is wrong to lie, quite often our fleshly nature rises up and tells lies to defend itself. A lie sometimes comes out of our mouths without us even realizing what we are saying!<\/p>\n<p>However, since we are born again, new creations in Christ, we should not be lying or deceiving one another, for satan is the father of lies and deception, and we have no place with him. Therefore, we need to be very careful how and what we speak.<\/p>\n<p><u>ONE-ANOTHERING IN ACTION:<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Examine yourself today to see if you might have said something which was inaccurate or that you knew was false.
