{"id":877,"date":"2025-10-28T00:08:37","date_gmt":"2025-10-28T07:08:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/smilegodlovesyou.org\/devotionals\/?p=877"},"modified":"2025-10-26T19:20:48","modified_gmt":"2025-10-27T02:20:48","slug":"standing-on-the-promises-trust","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/smilegodlovesyou.org\/devotionals\/standing-on-the-promises-trust\/","title":{"rendered":"Standing on the Promises: Trust"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><u>A Precious Promise: Trust<\/u><\/strong><em><br \/>\n&#8220;Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.\u00a0 &#8220;<\/em>Proverbs 3:5-6<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Thoughts:<br \/>\n<\/u><\/strong>The dictionary definition of Trust is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a firm belief in the reliability of another,<\/li>\n<li>to have confidence in or to hope in someone.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So to receive this Promise of direction for our paths, we need to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Put our full confidence in God only,<\/li>\n<li>Not rely on our own intelligence or feelings,<\/li>\n<li>Recognize, accept and express thanks for God&#8217;s authority.<\/li>\n<li>In all our ways&#8230;thoughts, speech, actions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Today let&#8217;s begin to trust God with all our heart and in all our ways, so as to receive His Promise of right direction for our lives.<\/p>\n<p><em>Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.<\/em> Psalm 37:5<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Prayer: <\/u><\/strong><br \/>\nDear God,<br \/>\nI so want to trust You in everything but sometimes it is hard to completely let go.<br \/>\nSometimes I trust You in my mind, but my heart is doubting.<br \/>\nSometimes my heart is fully committed but my mind is reasoning.<br \/>\nAnd, as You know, sometimes my independent will gets in the way of acknowledging Your authority over all of my life.<\/p>\n<p>But today, Father God, I want to begin really trusting You, for I want to receive Your promise of right direction for my life. Therefore, I am surrendering my will to You and I am putting my full confidence in You to lead me on right paths as I acknowledge You in all I say, think, and do.<\/p>\n<p>Thank You God. \u00a0In Jesus name, I pray.
