PEACE WITH GOD.
As you light your first and second candles of Advent, take time to ponder this verse:
Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1.
Do you remember your life before you believed in Christ? I do, and it is not a pleasant memory. I was lost in my sins, separated from God, and without hope, just as Paul says in Ephesians 2:12.
Before you believed in Christ, you were separated from him. You were not considered to be citizens of Israel. You were not included in what the covenants promised. You were without hope and without God in the world.
But thankfully, God drew me to Him using various people and events in my life to bring me to the knowledge of Jesus, and the truth of the gospel. I am so thankful that I came to believe in Christ, and receive Him as my Savior and Lord. What a wonderful, wonderful, blessing it is to be at Peace with God.
As the Advent candles of Hope and Peace burn bright and chase the darkness away, give thanks that as a believer in Christ, you have peace and hope with God through Jesus.
