REMAINING JOY.
As you light your first, second, and third candles of Advent, take time to ponder this verse:
these things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. John 15:11.
The things that Jesus was speaking about, was who He was, and who His Father was. Jesus was telling His disciples that He was the True Vine, and His Father was the Vinedresser, and if anyone would abide in Him, He would abide in them, and they would bear much fruit, because they would be attached to the True Vine, who would give them life, and they would be cared for by the Vinedresser, who is Father God. Thus, in abiding, His joy would remain in them, and their joy would be full. What a wonderful promise!
As the Advent candles of JOY, PEACE, and HOPE, burn bright and chase the darkness away, ponder upon all that this verse is saying to us today.
