FILLING JOY.
As you light your first, second, and third candles of Advent, take time to ponder this verse:
And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost. Acts 13:52.
Paul and Barnabas were boldly preaching the gospel in Antioch, receiving conflict from some of the Jews, yet some Gentiles were receiving their message, and believing it for salvation.
Through all of this, the disciples were filled with joy, and the Holy Ghost, for even though they were persecuted by some of the Jews, and left the city, scripture says they shook the dust off their feet, and were filled with joy as they sailed away to another city. Today let’s be encouraged by this scripture, knowing that we can be filled with joy, even though we might be facing conflicts or persecution, for in Christ we are filled with the Holy Spirit, and the joy of our salvation.
As the Advent candles of JOY, PEACE, and HOPE, burn bright and chase the darkness away, rejoice that you as a believer in Christ, are filled with His joy, and the Holy Spirit.
