March 26–Proverb A Day—Day 26

Posted on March 26, 2024March 25, 2024 by SGLY Devotionals

Today’s Proverb:
Where there is no wood, the fire goes out; And where there is no talebearer, strife ceases.  Proverbs 26:20

Today’s Thought:
This verse is saying that gossip is like wood fueling a fire.
By withholding wood from a fire you cause it to go out and in same way you could cause a quarrel to cease by withholding gossip.
Therefore, we should resist the urge to gossip or repeat things, even if they are true, and in doing so we will bring peace instead of strife.

  • Instead of
  • Peace

Today’s Action:
Today:

  • I will resist the urge to gossip or repeat things.
  • I will do my best to bring peace in all situations.
  • I will only speak things that edify others.
