Planting Spiritual Seeds—Day 31—Words

To make an apt answer is a joy to a man, and a word in season, how good it is!   Proverbs 15:23 ESV

Today’s Seed is: Words

The seeds we plant today are our words.  As the scripture says, “an apt answer is a joy”, which means when you answer is very important for words spoken at just the right time can make a big difference in someone’s life.
And “a word in season, how good it is” means saying something just at the right time is important and can bring goodness to the receiver and also to the speaker.

So, today, let’s focus on our words and on the timing of them.  Pray that God will give you the right words to speak at the right time today, for only He knows when the “apt time” is for someone, and only He knows what someone might need to hear today.  So, ask Him to place you in the right path of someone today who needs to hear an apt word from you, then be expecting to give an apt answer or a good word at just the right time.

Imagine what a joy it will be to speak an apt word to someone!  Consider how good it will be to speak a word in season to someone.   So, watch your words today, speak only when necessary and be sure you stay alert for whomever God brings across your path. Pay attention to your conversations today.  Listen carefully when someone asks you a question today. Be ready to speak aptly and in season so your words bring joy and goodness into someone’s life.

Like apples of gold in settings of silver Is a word spoken at the right time. Proverbs 25:11 AMP

Blessings to you.  I pray that your words today are like apples of gold in settings of silver.

This is the last devotional in “Planting Spiritual Seeds”.  I hope you enjoyed and were inspired by this devotional and that it helped you in some way.
Tomorrow we will begin “Conversation Hearts” this 28 day Devotional is meant to keep us focused on the words we speak daily.
Jesus said: …”For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” Jesus was saying that our mouths will speak what is in our heart—therefore, we should check our hearts daily to see what is in them. This Daily Devotional will help us do that by giving us a “little conversation heart” for each day that we can use to keep our speech sweet and good.
I hope you will join us for this next devotional.
