June 3–Heart for the Lord–Day 3–CHEERFUL HEART
“So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7 NKJV
Today’s Thought:
A Cheerful Heart is full of gladness and joy. It uplifts and comforts.
It is excited about life, and it often urges others on with encouragement.
It enjoys life and loves to give cheerfully to others, whether it be of time, talent or treasure.
What a delight it must be to have a Cheerful Heart!
Therefore, our heart’s prayer today is for a Cheerful Heart.
Prayer of the Heart to the Lord:
Dear Lord,
What a delight it would be to have a Cheerful Heart, one that gives cheerfully to You and others in many different ways!
So today, I ask that You create in me a Cheerful Heart so that I can purposely give to You and others with gladness and joy.
There are many ways to give, so show me daily Lord , how You want me to give cheerfully to others. Sometimes it might be just a smile, a hug, or a kind word, other times maybe I could give my time to be of service to someone or give out of my talent or treasure. You know what is needed daily by those You bring across my path Lord, so create in me a Cheerful Heart that will give in the ways I am able each day. For want a Cheerful Heart that is excited about life and wants to share that excitement with everyone it meets!
