AUGUST 24–SPEAK TO ONE ANOTHER

Posted on August 24, 2023September 1, 2023 by SGLY Devotionals

A “One Anothering” Scripture and Thought
speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, Ephesians 5:19

Speak means:

  • to utter words or articulate sounds with the ordinary voice
  • to communicate to make a statement in written or printed words.
  • to emit a sound, as a musical instrument; make a noise or report.

Paul says to speak to one another using psalms, hymns and spiritual songs.

There are many ways of speaking.

  • We can use our voice to utter words or sing songs.
  • We can speak using written words or by our actions, ie: giving a gift of some sort.
  • We can speak with musical instruments, writing music or lyrics.
  • Sometimes we can even speak by using our eyes, a smile or a touch.
  • A silent prayer can also speak into someone’s life through the Holy Spirit.

ONE-ANOTHERING IN ACTION:

Look for different ways you can speak to your brothers and sisters in Christ.

Ask the Lord to show you the how He wants to speak through you into someone’s life today and thank Him for all the ways He is using others to speak into your life.

Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. 1 Corinthians 1:10
