Standing on the Promises:  DISAPPOINTMENT

Posted on October 9, 2025October 8, 2025 by SGLY Devotionals

A Precious Promise: DISAPPOINTMENT
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28

Thoughts:
All things (good and bad) work together for good to those:

  • Who love God,
  • Who are the called according to His purpose.

So, based on this scripture, we should not be disappointed when our plans don’t work out, for God is in control and He will work all things out for our good according to His purpose.

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways” says the Lord. Isaiah 55:8

Prayer:
Dear Lord,
I want to claim this Precious Promise, so matter what happens in my life, the good things and the bad things, I can just focus on loving You, and trusting You because I know You will work everything out for my good according to Your purpose.

May I have the faith and trust that King Jehoshaphat had in 2Chronicles 20:12, who stood before the people of Judah and Jerusalem when they were facing war with many mighty armies, and he prayed: “Lord, we do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.”

I pray I will remember to do the same when I am facing difficult circumstances in my life. I pray that I will not become disappointed but that I will place all my trust in You Lord, to work everything out for good.
Thank You, Lord. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Such hope [in God’s promises] never disappoints us, because God’s love has been abundantly poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Romans 5:5
