God’s Grace Day 3
The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
Numbers 6:24-26
Message:
The Lord told Moses to tell his brother Aaron and his sons to bless the Israelites by saying the above verses. The Lord was telling Moses, Aaron and his sons that He, the Lord, wanted to bless the people this way. He wanted to watch over them, guard them and keep them from harm. He wanted to shine His face upon them to enlighten them. He wanted to show them His grace, by being kind, merciful and giving them favor. He wanted to show His approval of them and give them His peace continually.
This is still the Lord’s heart for us. He does not change. His is the same today as He was then. He wants to bless us, His people, with all these same things.
Praise Him! Give thanks to Him! Rejoice that we have such a gracious, loving Lord.
