God’s Grace   Day 4

Posted on May 4, 2025May 4, 2025 by SGLY Devotionals

God’s Grace   Day 4
Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you;
And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you.
For the Lord is a God of justice;
Blessed are all those who wait for Him.
Isaiah 30:18

Message:

For most of us waiting is not something we like to do.  Waiting in line, waiting at a stop light, waiting on hold on a phone call, waiting for our computer to load, all these and more can cause anxiety, frustration and impatience.  We’ve all experienced times of waiting whether for good things or bad things, and though waiting is not something we advocate doing, we can learn to accept it and not let it steal our joy or distract us from focusing on more important things.

In today’s verse we see the Lord speaking to His rebellious people who have turned away from Him to follow the ways of Egypt and not listened to Him when He told them to return to Him.
He is saying He will wait on them so that He might be gracious to them.  He is so loving and patient that He doesn’t want anyone to perish, so He will wait on them in order to help them understand His ways.  He will be merciful to them in order that they may turn back to Him and repent of their rebellious ways.  Isn’t He such an amazing God to wait willingly?
“The Lord is patient and not willing that anyone should perish, but desires everyone to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9

We, His people, need to take these verses to heart.  We need to wait on the Lord’s timing instead of impatiently trying to do things our own way.  We need to really realize how much the Lord loves us and wants to bless us and walk with us daily.  He so desires to be a vital part of our lives that He will wait for us to realize that there is no way better to live than with Him.  He waits for us to repent of going our own way and return to Him and He will be there to extend His mercy and graciously bless us, for as the verse says: “Blessed are all those who wait for Him.”

Seek Him today. Follow Him in obedience and you will be richly blessed.
