January 31—Walk in Love—Ephesians 5:1-2

Walk in Love.
Be imitators of God, therefore, as beloved children, and walk in love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us… Ephesians 5:1-2.

Believers, we can walk in love every day by imitating God just like Jesus did, and offering our lives in sacrifice to God. Each day we wake up we can make a choice to walk in love just as Christ did. Since, as believers, we have the Holy Spirit within us, our lives can exhibit the fruits of the Spirit as we walk through our days. Since, as believers, we are following Christ each day we can imitate His actions of love, kindness, peace, forgiveness and so much more. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. Colossians 3:14.

The apostle Paul gives a detailed description of how to walk in love in 1 Corinthians 13:4–7.
“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way.
It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance”

When we walk in love, we show the world that we are true followers of Jesus Christ: “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” John 13:35.
