Showers of Blessings  Day 19
Blessing:  God’s Steadfast Love
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; Psalm 103:11 ESV

Message:
I remember, even though it’s been years ago now, when I first heard and really began to understand the meaning of the words in John 3:16.
“God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
I was amazed that God would love that much that He would give His only Son!  I had a young daughter at that time and I just couldn’t imagine giving her up for the world, but God loved a world full of sinners so much that He gave His only Son.  I couldn’t imagine that kind of love, a sacrificial love, an un-conditional love, a merciful love, a love that only God could give.  I wanted that kind of love in my life and so, I believed and received Jesus, God’s only Son, and I did receive that love, everlasting life and so, so much more!   God’s love is amazing!  How blessed are those who believe and receive it through Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, Who gave Himself to die on a cross for our sins.

God’s steadfast love, His lovingkindness, is as high as the heavens towards us who fear Him!
It is an infinite, un-ending, great, un-imaginable love towards those who fear Him.  The word for steadfast love is very similar to yesterday’s word for mercy.  So once again we see how blessed we are as we fear the Lord and walk in His ways.
