August 1–Psalms Prayer Pocket–Day 1

Posted on August 1, 2025July 30, 2025 by SGLY Devotionals

“PSALMS PRAYER POCKETS” is a 31-day program focusing on praying the Psalms.
There are 31 daily topics ranging from A to Z that deal with things we all may face at some time in our lives.
The prayers are short little scripture-based prayers that we can store in the pockets of our mind and pull out when the need arises.
This can also be a great journaling experience where you daily journal your thoughts to God while praying HIS word.

A Psalms Prayer Pocket for when you are: AFRAID
I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:4 (NKJV)

The Lord doesn’t want us living in fear. He has told us many, many times in scripture not to fear.
He has told us that fear does not come from Him. 2Timothy 1:7 says: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
Therefore, when fear comes upon us, we need to face it and reject it in the strength and power of God.

Pocket Prayer:
Dear Lord, today I am afraid of: _____________________(tell the Lord just what you are afraid of today).
Lord, I am seeking you now, and I believe You hear me and that You will deliver me from this fear for You are the strength of my life.
I believe that this fear is not from You so I reject it in Your name. I will face it and defeat it in the power of Your strength.
I will remind myself right now that “The Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1(NKJV)
Then I will go forth in Your strength and power and “Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.” Psalm 56:3 (NKJV)
Thank you, Lord. Amen.
