A “One Anothering” Scripture and Thought
so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Romans 12:5
Members means:
- A distinct part of a whole
- A part of a body
- One that belongs to a group or an organization.
We believers are all members of Christ’s body, yet we each have our own distinct gifting, and we need to use our gifting for the betterment of the body as a whole.
Just as the eye is one part of the body, so is the foot, and each has its own special work to do to help the body be the best it can be. So do each of us who are in Christ, we are members of the body of Christ, His church on earth, and we all have a special part in making the body to be the best it can be.
If you don’t know what your part is as a member, or what your special gifting is, pray and ask Father God to show you what it is, so that you can fulfill the works that God has planned for you to do for Him and for the betterment of the body of Christ.
ONE-ANOTHERING IN ACTION:
This scripture says it well:
Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are all parts of His one body, and each of us has different work to do. And since we are all one body in Christ, we belong to each other, and each of us needs all the others. God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well. Romans 12:4-5-6
I would encourage you to finish reading Romans Chapter 12 today. It is full of wisdom for living the Christian life in the world and with our fellow believers.
