August 2–BEAR ONE ANOTHER’S BURDENS

Posted on August 2, 2023September 1, 2023 by SGLY Devotionals

A “One Anothering” Scripture and Thought
Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Galations 6:2

To Bear means:

  • to carry
  • to support
  • to endure

In other words, Paul says that we believers should help one another with our burdens.

We should help a brother or sister in Christ carry their burden to the Lord.

We should support each other with prayer and encouragement during a time of burden.

We should endure the hardships burdens might cause and walk together to strengthen each other.

By doing this Paul says we will fulfill the law of Christ which is the command Jesus gave us to love one another in John 13:34.

ONE-ANOTHERING IN ACTION:

Do you have a burden you are attempting to carry alone, or do you know a brother or sister in Christ that does?

If you are carrying a burden, tell God about it and give it to Him to carry.

Then, ask Him to send a brother or sister in Christ into your life to help you endure and to support you in your time of need so you can be strengthened and not attempt to take the burden back upon yourself.

If you have no burden, but know someone who does, pray about how you might help them bear their burden and so practice the one-anothering that Christ desires and Paul taught.

Share in each other’s troubles and problems, and in this way obey the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2
