August 24–Psalms Prayer Pocket–Day 24

Posted on August 24, 2025August 23, 2025 by SGLY Devotionals

A Psalms Prayer Pocket for when you feel: RESTLESS
Oh, that I had wings like a dove; then I would fly away and rest! I would fly far away to the quiet of the wilderness…How quickly I would escape… Psalm 55:6-8 (NLT)

I think many of us can relate to this verse. It is in our human nature to be restless, fretful and impatient.  Our flesh wants instant gratification, satan loves to cause confusion and chaos in our lives and the world around us is a fast paced, high-speed society. So,at one time or another we may have just wanted to just sprout wings and fly away someplace to escape all the noise, chaos, troubles, woes and labors, just to find rest.
Well, we believers don’t have to go to that extreme, for we can just take a moment, pause and put our life on hold to spend a few minutes with Jesus who is the Prince of Peace.  Just take a break, take a deep breath, shut your eyes and call upon Jesus to give you His peace and rest.  He said we should not be troubled, for He would give us His peace that surpasses all understanding, and that in Him we would find rest for our souls.  So, the next time you are feeling restless, take a Peace Pause and call upon Jesus to give you His peace and rest.  Try it!  It works!

Pocket Prayer:
Dear Lord, I am Restless because_____________________________________________________. (tell the Lord why you are feeling restless right now)

Lord, I wish right now that I could fly away someplace and find rest. I am fretting over things I know I shouldn’t, and I am growing impatient with my current circumstances.
Please help me to just stop fretting and find rest in You, Lord. Please give me the patience to rest and wait for Your way and will, so I do not cause any harm to myself and others by being impulsive.
Thank You Lord, for Your Peace and Your Rest, and for what You are doing behind the scenes that I cannot see. I appreciate all the things that You have done and will do for me.  Amen and Amen.

Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret…Do not fret—it only causes harm. Psalm 37:7-8 (NKJV)
