August 28–Psalms Prayer Pocket–Day 28

Posted on August 28, 2025August 25, 2025 by SGLY Devotionals

A Psalms Prayer Pocket for when you are: TEMPTED
Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips, Do not incline my heart to any evil thing…Psalm 141:3-4 (NKJV)

In this world there will always be temptations that will come upon us.  The world around us is filled with ungodliness, satan is always lurking about trying to tempt us in some way, and our old fleshly nature may rise up to tempt us.  It might be a song we hear, a memory that comes flashing across our mind, a sight or smell, or some seemingly innocent thing that comes across our path that could lead us into sin, BUT…
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. 1Corinthians 10:13 NKJV.
Therefore, when we are tempted, we need to stop and pray for God to give us strength to overcome it and to put His thoughts in our mind.

Pocket Prayer:
Dear Lord, today I am being Tempted by_________________________________________. (tell the Lord who or what is tempting you today)

Please help me, Lord. Guard me. Keep me. Don’t let me speak anything that might be harmful to myself or others.
Let my lips sing praises to You instead. I don’t want to think wrong thoughts or desire wrong things. I want my mind and heart to focus on Your goodness Lord.
I do not want to practice any wicked works. So, please Lord, remove this temptation from me and set me free from this temptation to sin.
Surround me and protect me from the world, the flesh and the devil, so that I am not led astray by temptation.
Thank You Lord.   Amen.

Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You. Psalm 119:11 (NKJV)
