A Psalms Prayer Pocket for when you are: TESTED
For You, O God, have tested us; You have refined us as silver is refined Psalm 66:10 (NKJV)
There will be times in our lives when our faith will be tested by God. He may allow us to go through trials that will test our faith in order to cleanse us, for when we came to Christ we came as we were and though we repented of our sins we most likely still had unknown baggage we were carrying that needed to be removed, like doubt, unbelief, worry, anxiety, fear, worldly desires, sinful habits, etc. All those things keep us weak and in bondage. But, when we accepted Christ our renewal began, His Holy Spirit moved in and began the internal cleanup process, for in Christ we are a new creation, the old is gone and the new has come as it says in 2Corinthians 5:17 NKJV Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. So, testing is one way that God cleanses or purifies us. Stop and think about it, if you are living in Christ, you certainly are not the same person you used to be before, your thoughts are different, your habits are different, you have changed, and you should be seeing that you have become a new person. It may not have happened overnight, but gradually God has been changing you inside out, molding you into His image for His purpose.
This verse from 1Peter 1:7 NLT explains it well: These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
Pocket Prayer:
Dear Lord, I feel I am being Tested because________________________________________.(tell the Lord why you feel you are being tested today)
I thank You for testing me and refining me, even though it may be unpleasant for a while, I know that You are removing the defects in me and molding me into Your image so I can bring You glory.
I rejoice that I am Your workmanship, created by You to do great things! [Ephesians 2:10] May I shine for You like silver shines in the sun!
Please, continue giving me Your strength, dear Lord, so I may be tested by You and found not wanting. Teach me, Your word and works Oh, Lord, so I may always pass Your tests.
This is My Hope and Prayer that I may say:
You have tested my thoughts and examined my heart in the night. You have scrutinized me and found nothing wrong. I am determined not to sin in what I say. I have followed your commands, which keep me from following cruel and evil people. Psalm 17:3-4 (NLT)
Thank You Lord. Amen.
