A “One Anothering” Scripture and Thought
Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. James 4:11
Evil means:
- morally wrong or bad; immoral.
- harmful; injurious.
- marked by anger, irritability.
Since we are believers, we should not be doing things which God would consider morally wrong or bad, harmful or injurious, to anyone, but especially to our brethren.
We all get angry or irritable sometimes and that is not necessarily evil unless it is deliberately meant to cause harm or injury, so it is at those times we need to pray for self-control, so that we do not un-intentionally cause anyone harm with our anger or irritability.
ONE-ANOTHERING IN ACTION:
I think we as believers know that we need to practice good and not evil.
Every day we should seek to fill ourselves with the good news of God’s word so there will be no room for anything evil to infiltrate our lives.
We need to let the light of Christ shine in us so bright that no amount of darkness can penetrate us, then we will be speaking good and not evil, to our brethren and also to the world.
For “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech. He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it.” 1 Peter 3:10-11
This is the last Devotional in the “One-Anothering” series. I hope this Devotional helped you to see how the Lord wants His people to treat each other.
Tomorrow we will start a new Devotional called: “ASK-SEEK-KNOCK”.
This a 30 day Devotional on Prayer. Each day we will be praying for different things according to scripture.
I feel during these times we are living in that daily prayer is most important and I hope you will join me in this, I think it will be a great blessing in our lives.
