A Psalms Prayer Pocket for when you are: DESOLATE
Turn Yourself to me, and have mercy on me, For I am desolate and afflicted. Psalm 25:16 (NKJV)
Desolate means alone, lonely, forlorn, lonesome, joyless, just plain down in the dumps. Sometimes we may have a reason for feeling desolate, perhaps it’s an affliction, which brings us pain or misery. Other times, we may just be lonely because of someone or someplace that is not with us. Whatever the reason, the Lord can and will help us overcome our desolation if we call upon Him to help us, for His word says: The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate. Psalm 34:22 (KJV)
Pocket Prayer:
Dear Lord, today I am feeling Desolate because_______________________. (tell the Lord why you are feeling desolate today)
Please, Lord, turn Yourself to me and have mercy on me. I am feeling alone, lonely and in pain. I am suffering, Lord.
Please hear my prayer and have mercy on me and relieve me in my distress.
I am Your servant, Lord, please deliver me as I trust in You.
Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved me in my distress; Have mercy on me and hear my prayer. Psalm 4:1 (NKJV)
