A Psalms Prayer Pocket for when you are: DISCOURAGED
I lie in the dust, completely discouraged; revive me by your word, Psalm 119:25 (NLT)
Have you ever felt like this? Like you were just so beat down and discouraged you couldn’t get up or go on? I think all of us have felt that way at some time in our lives, but we who know the Lord are blessed to be able to revive ourselves as we pray to God and ask for His help to rise up and read His word which will uplift us and give us strength. Then we will be able to say as David said: “Why am I discouraged? Why so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again–my Savior and my God!” Psalm 42:5–Psalm 42:11–Psalm 43:5
Pocket Prayer:
Dear Lord, today I am Discouraged because__________________________. (tell the Lord why you are discouraged today)
I know I shouldn’t be feeling this way because in You, Lord, I have hope. In You, I have help.
I will read Your word for it will revive me, and I will begin praising You for all You have done for me, all You are now doing for me, and all You will be doing for me.
Then, as I praise You and read and declare the promises in Your word the discouragement will flee and Your face will shine upon me and uplift me, for You are always near to me, ready to help me. Thank You Lord for always being there and thank You for Your word which always uplifts me.
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. Psalm 34:18 (NLT)
