Day 13–Conversation Heart–Kept Tongue

Posted on February 13, 2026February 2, 2026 by SGLY Devotionals

MOUTH MEDICINE:
Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit. Psalm 34:13

TONGUE TALK:
A Kept Tongue and Lips would be those that are held in check.
They are restrained from speaking things that might be harmful, untrue, morally bad, or wrong.
A Kept Tongue and Lips are those that are held back from saying anything that would cause pain to anyone.

HEART HELP:
Don’t repay evil for evil.
Don’t retaliate when people say unkind things about you.
Instead, pay them back with a blessing.
That is what God wants you to do, and He will bless you for it.
For the Scriptures say:
“If you want a happy life and good days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and keep your lips from telling lies.” 1 Peter 3:9-10

MY PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Dear Lord, today I pray that I can keep my tongue and lips in check today.
Help me to refrain from speaking anything that is untrue or harmful.
I don’t want my tongue or lips saying things that might cause pain to myself or others, so help me to restrain my tongue and hold my lips in check.
Dear Lord, I want a happy life and good days. So, I pray today that I will use my mouth and tongue to bless all the people I meet today, even if they are unkind or rude.

Thank You Lord for Your help in this.
