REJOICE!
“Rejoice in the Lord always, Again I will say, rejoice!” Philippians 4:4
(-written while Paul was a prisoner)
Today’s Thought:
I will, always, in good times and bad, say “Rejoice!”
Paul is not giving us an option here. He is saying we must choose to rejoice always, no matter what the circumstances are. He was in prison, in chains, and he chose to rejoice.
Why was he so firm about rejoicing? Because he said there was always a reason to rejoice about receiving salvation. Whether he had good days or bad days Paul was always joyful that he had received the forgiveness and salvation of the Lord.
So, as Paul says, we must make rejoicing a priority every day. There will always be days we don’t feel like it or days when we have every earthly reason not to be joyful, that is why we must choose to rejoice always, as Paul did. As we do our rejoicing it will uplift us and glorify God.
Even David rejoiced when he was hiding in caves from Saul as he was in fear of his life.
And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD; It shall rejoice in His salvation. Psalm 35:9
(–written while David was seeking vindication from his enemies)

Outward people may treat me unfairly, but inwardly: I will rejoice ANYTIME–Again I will be glad anytime!
REJOICE ANYPLACE
Outward the world and life might look grim, but inwardly: I will rejoice ANYPLACE–Again I will be happy anyplace!
