Walk in Right Paths.
I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in right paths. Proverbs 4:11.
In this verse, King Solomon is speaking to his son, Rehoboam. He is speaking as a father to his son, reminding his son of the importance of walking in right paths and following the way of wisdom. (It is very unfortunate that King Solomon, in his old age, did not follow his own advice. Read: 1 Kings 11:4-40)
God, our Father, throughout scripture speaks to us the same way as a Father to His children.
In Psalm 32:8 the Lord says: I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go; I will give you counsel and watch over you.
In Isaiah 30:21 God says: And whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear this command behind you: “This is the way. Walk in it.”
In Isaiah 48:17 the Lord our Redeemer says: Thus says the LORD your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you for your benefit, who directs you in the way you should go.
Several times in the New Testament Jesus said: “Follow Me” and Jesus is “The Way” (John 14:6) and He is “The Wisdom of God” (1 Corinthians 1:24).
So, I would say if we follow Jesus we will be following wisdom and we will be walking on the right paths everyday of our lives.
