Walk in the Spirit.
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1.
If we are walking in the Spirit we are walking in Christ, for in John 14:16-17 Jesus promises the Holy Spirit will be sent to His believers. He says: “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate to be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot receive Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you do know Him, for He abides with you and will be in you.”
Therefore, if we walk in the Spirit we will not be walking in the flesh, but in the Spirit of truth which is Jesus who is Truth, and there is no condemnation in that walking because we are forgiven in Christ and covered with His righteousness.
We are assured in Christ we are free from sin, and we can walk in confidence and hope knowing we are forgiven, loved, accepted and valued in God’s sight. As we walk in the Spirit we are empowered to live out our faith courageously.
So let’s embrace the gift we have been given in Christ and rejoice that we can walk in the Spirit daily stepping into a life of fullness and joy, unshackled by guilt and condemnation.
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” Colossians 3:12. This verse reflects the fruits of the Spirit that should manifest in our lives as we walk in the Spirit.
