Walk-in-the-Light--1John-1.7

January 7—Walk in the Light—1 John 1:7

Posted on January 7, 2026January 6, 2026 by SGLY Devotionals

Walk in the Light.
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another. 1 John: 1:7.

Jesus said “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” John 8:12.

Therefore, if we walk in the light, we will be walking in Jesus and we will never walk in darkness, and we will have fellowship with other believers who are also walking in the light.  We will see our life aligning with God’s truth and purpose. As we walk in the light we will be shining forth a testimony to the world, and in so doing we will be bringing glory to God.

Some Practical Steps to Walk in the Light.
Daily Confess and Pray: any sin that is revealed, pray for God’s wisdom and strength to overcome it.
“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation…” Matthew 26:41.

Read, Meditate, and Memorize Scripture:  scripture will uplift and encourage us and give us strength in daily walk-through life.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.”  Psalm 119:105.

Seek Fellowship with Other True Believers: this will give you moral support and accountability for living out the moral and spiritual aspects of the faith.
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another…” Hebrews 10:24-25.

Actively Obey God: by daily putting God’s word to you into practice.  As you read, meditate and memorize scripture, commit to obeying what it says and do it.
“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only…”  James 1:22.
