Planting Spiritual Seeds—Day 11—Grow

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.   2Peter 3:18 ESV

Today’s Spiritual Seed is: Growth

Today’s scripture certainly applies to us believers as we should be growing in our faith, however, it can also apply to our seed sowing.

Obviously if we go about planting seeds, we will want them to grow, so what can we do to try to make sure that will happen?
I would say we should make sure the seeds we are planting are good seeds, seeds that are truth, which would be biblically based seeds.
Before we plant a seed into someone’s life, we need to examine it to be sure it is capable of growing.  We can check it and be sure by testing it against God’s word the Bible.
Is the seed a word of truth or just something someone told us, or a thought we had about what we read?

Also, where we scatter the good seeds is important.  In the parable of the farmer scattering seed that Jesus told in gospels we see that where the seeds fell made quite a difference in whether they grew or didn’t.   (Read the Parable in Matthew chapter 13 for more understanding.)

We must remember that only God can make a seed grow, but our job is to carefully plant good seeds in places where they have the best chance to thrive and survive.
