Planting Spiritual Seeds—Day 20—Nurture

like newborn babies [you should] long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may be nurtured and grow in respect to salvation [its ultimate fulfillment], 1Peter 2:2 AMP

Today’s Seed is:  Nurture

Today we will be nurturing new believers, or those in the faith who need discipling.
Sometimes people get saved and then receive no follow up on how to grow in the Christian faith.
So, today we will fill our pockets with nurturing seeds and look for those who might need them.

When you nurture something, you focus on helping it grow.  So, our nurturing seeds will scriptures that encourage growth.
These are some nurturing scriptures you might want to share today, but there are so many more you could share also.
Perhaps you might have a favorite scripture that helped you grow, if so, share that today.

  • Encourage someone to memorize scripture:
  • I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
    Psalm 119:11 ESV
  • Encourage them to stay focused on their beliefs:
  • “Only take care, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things that your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. Make them known to your children and your children’s children— Deuteronomy 4:9 ESV
  • Remind them not to fear
  • For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
    2 Timothy 1:7 ESV
  • Encourage them to renew their minds
  • And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you]. Romans 12:2 AMP
  • Remind them to stay alert
  • Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 1Peter 5:8 NLT
