Planting Spiritual Seeds—Day 3–Comfort
This is my comfort in my affliction, For Your word has given me life. Psalm 119:50
Today’s Spiritual Seed is bringing Comfort to someone.
Who can you comfort today? Who do you know that needs to be comforted?
To comfort means to cheer up or console.
Do you know someone who has been afflicted with some aliment or disease? Perhaps you could call them to offer a word of hope by sharing a scripture verse with them.
Do you know someone who has lost a loved one or favorite pet? Perhaps you could send them a sympathy card with a comforting scripture in it that would help to ease their grief. Just letting them know you are thinking of them in their time of sorrow will uplift and comfort them.
Is there someone close to you going through a tough or troublesome time? Maybe offering them a helping hand would ease their worries and lift their load.
Do you know a fellow believer who is struggling in their faith? Ask them if you can pray with them. Share an uplifting scripture with them, and/or share with them any similar experience you might have had when or if your faith was tested. This will give them strength to carry on.
God says His word is living and active, therefore inserting it into someone’s life in some way will surely bring life, strength, comfort and hope to their day.
“For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]…” Hebrews 4:12 Amplified Bible
