So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields. Matthew 9:38
Today let’s pray for God to call people to be workers who will go out into their corner of the world and bring in lost souls to the kingdom. Harvesters don’t go out planting seeds, or watering seeds. They don’t nurture or tend, they reap. They bring in the souls that others may have planted a seed of truth in or counseled with the word. Jesus explains it in John 4:34-38:
Jesus explained: “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work. You know the saying, ‘Four months between planting and harvest.’ But I say, wake up and look around. The fields are already ripe for harvest. The harvesters are paid good wages, and the fruit they harvest is people brought to eternal life. What joy awaits both the planter and the harvester alike! You know the saying, ‘One plants and another harvests.’ And it’s true. I sent you to harvest where you didn’t plant; others had already done the work, and now you will get to gather the harvest.”
Dear Lord,
I pray that You will send more workers into the fields of the world to bring people to eternal life. I pray You will begin calling people to be harvesters for the kingdom. I pray that You will touch people’s minds and hearts with the love of the gospel so that they will go out into the world and bring in a great harvest of souls for You.Thank You, Lord of the Harvest. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
