For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Hebrews 4:12
Do you sometimes wonder how to really connect with God and experience His word working in your life? Since the bible says God’s Word is alive and powerful, we see that it can definitely be active in our life and it should be. We should be experiencing God’s Word at work in our lives daily.
Here are some ways we can pray for God’s word to be real in our lives.
- Pray Scripture
Pray God’s own words for His will to be done in any situation you are facing in your life. Praying Scripture back to God aligns your prayers with His promises and teachings.
Pray His Promises over your life. Search for scriptures that apply to your situation and personalize them as you pray. Believe God’s Word is alive and powerful and claim it for your needs.
- Ask for the Holy Spirit’s Help
Jesus said the Holy Spirit was our Helper, and that He would lead and guide us to all truth. He also said the Holy Spirit was our Comforter. Therefore, pray and ask the Spirit to help you understand and apply God’s word in your life. Pray for the Spirit’s power to live out the truths you find in Scripture.
Pray and ask the Spirit to lead and guide you and comfort you in all things.
- Thank God for Giving Us His Word
Pray a prayer of gratitude to God for giving us His word and all the wisdom, help, comfort and joy it provides. Thank Him for revealing Himself through the scriptures and for giving us a sure word of truth to stand on. Pray that He will give you the strength to be obedient to what it says.
Thank You for Your Word which is truth that is alive, active, powerful and sharp. I pray that Your word will be real in my life today. I want to experience the active power of Your Word today in my life. Send Your Holy Spirit to quicken Your Word to my mind and heart. Send Him to help me, guide me and comfort me. I am grateful; God, for Your Word and all you have done, are doing, and will do in my life today. I ask for strength to obey what Your Word tells me. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
