And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
As believers in Christ God will supply all of our needs. Needs are what are necessary for life here on earth.
Needs are not wants. Sometimes we confuse the two and we think God isn’t answering our prayers. Sometimes He does give us our wants as in a desire of our heart, but He will always supply our needs somehow, someway. For, as Jesus said in Matthew 6:8: “your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.”
We might say if the Father knows the things, I need then why do I need to ask Him for them?
Well, I would say it is because He wants a close, personal relationship with us. Prayer is our way of talking with Him. He loves to hear from us, that is why Paul said in 1Thessalonians 5:17 “Pray without ceasing.”.
God knows what we need, but do we know what we need? Sometimes what we think we need, is not really a need but a want, or maybe it is not something we need at that time. Only God knows and that is why we pray (talk with Him) to ask Him. Therefore, let’s do as Paul says in Philippians 4:6 “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done.”
Dear God, I am thankful that through prayer I can talk with You daily, asking You for what I think I need and listening and waiting for Your answer.
I am thankful that You always do answer God. Sometimes I have found that Your answer was “Yes”, sometimes, “No”, and sometimes “Not Right Now”, but You always answered and for that I am grateful. Thank You for supplying all my needs according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus. I am so thankful to be in Christ and grateful for all He did for me. It is because of Your Son that I can have this relationship with You God, that I can talk with You 24/7, and that You listen and speak to me in various ways. Therefore, I will continue asking, seeking, and knocking daily. I will not worry about anything, but instead pray about everything as Your word says. And I will live in peace and rejoice daily that I have all that I need because of You.
