The Lord is good and does what is right; he shows the proper path to those who go astray. Psalm 25:8
Today we pray for those we know who may have strayed from the faith, the backsliders or the prodigals.
Those believers who might have taken up an offense and turned away from living a Christ centered life.
Those believers who perhaps were weak in their faith and stumbled and fell and now need a hand to rise back up, or those believers who got tangled up in the world or false teachings and were led astray.
You might know of many others who strayed from following Christ, got off of His path, and now need prayer to bring them back into the fold. Perhaps in their hearts they are saying: “I have wandered away like a lost sheep; come and find me, for I have not forgotten your commands”. Psalm 119:176
Jesus is the Good Shepherd; He knows His sheep and they know Him. If the backslidden and prodigals are true believers, His sheep, then He wants them back and He will seek them, they just need to come out of the world or wilderness where they’ve been and return to Him.
“My people have been lost sheep. Their shepherds have led them astray and turned them loose in the mountains. They have lost their way and can’t remember how to get back to the sheepfold.” Jeremiah 50:6
So let’s pray and intercede today for those who have backslidden, lost their way, become prodigals, or those who have strayed from the path and got tangled in the world or wrong beliefs, will wake up and realize they need to return to Christ, the Good Shepherd, the only One who is the Way, Truth and Life.
