Showers of Blessings   Day 1

Showers of Blessings   Day 1.
Blessing:  Ability to Avoid Evil.

By the fear of the LORD a man avoids evil.  Proverbs 16:6.

As I walked on the path in the park, I saw signs saying, “Keep off the Grass”, “Stay on the Main Path”, and several other Park Rules.  I wondered why they were posted and what would happen if I disobeyed them, but I respected the authority and wisdom behind them enough to do what they said and was happy at the end of my walk to arrive safely at my destination.  Later I learned of some people who had not respected the signs, and they had brought trouble or painful circumstances upon themselves because of their disrespect of authority.

Today’s verse is like one of those signs, it is telling us if we respect the Lord and His word, we will avoid bad situations that could cause us misery or trouble.  The Lord always wants to protect His people from harm and keep them from evil, therefore we need to heed His warning signs and obey them.

Message: …the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil. 2 Thessalonians 3:3.

Believers, we have been blessed to be able to avoid evil.  Our reverential fear of the Lord prompts us to turn away from any evil doing.   If we love the Lord with all our heart, mind and soul, we will avoid doing things that are wrong or displease the Lord.  We will seek to live for Him night and day, and as we do His will, we will not be led towards temptation.
