Showers of Blessings  Day 14
Blessing:  Given Authority
That I gave my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the ruler of the palace, charge over Jerusalem: for he was a faithful man, and feared God above many. Nehemiah 7:2 KJV

Message:
Many times in my years of working at different stores I was given authority I didn’t expect nor ask for. I was promoted above others who had worked at the same place longer, I was often a key person, yet it was not something I wanted nor strived to be; therefore, I knew it was the Lord promoting me.  In some workplaces we were not allowed to share our faith or beliefs, yet my co-workers always knew I was a believer without me speaking about it, because I believe they saw the light of Christ shining through me and felt the presence of the Holy Spirit.  Once a co-worker told me she had started going to church again after many years of absence.  When I told her that was good and asked what made her decide to do so, she said “It was you. You inspired me.”  I was surprised because I had never spoke with her about my faith, but she told me it was my actions that showed her I was a true believer.  Praise God for that!

Believers, when we fear the Lord, we are noticed for our faithfulness and integrity.  Often, we are given authority or promotions in this world because of our godly character even if that is not specifically stated as why. People notice our actions, and if we are exhibiting the fruits of the Holy Spirit, they will see our faith in what we do even without us speaking about it, and we will be blessed.

The fear of the Lord blesses us in many different ways in this world and in the world to come. Give thanks that as we live in fear the Lord daily, we are a most blessed people!
